The Smart Generation project conducted wide research on the training needs of 12-17 year olds and their teachers, then created and tested a pedagogical model showing both the benefits and risks of smartphone use. The “Education and Innovative Pedagogy. Smart(phone) education” conference during the Lifelong Learning Week in November 2017 was an occasion for Smart Generation partners to present the project’s final results and recommendations resulting from them to European stakeholders.

Presentate a Bruxelles le Policy Recommendations del Progetto europeo Smart Generation: si tratta del documento che propone elementi di riflessione e indicazioni ai decisori pubblici per sostenere pratiche educative attuali e inclusive. Ad esempio, introdurre elementi del modello "Educare allo Smartphone" nei programmi di apprendimento nazionale, investire in competenze digitali, incoraggiare l’apprendimento da dispositivo mobile con apposite direttive.

The Smart Generation project will participate in the Life Long Learning Week 2017 – “Education in a Digital World” with a multiplier event to be held in Brussels next 21st November. The LLLWeek aims to raise awareness on lifelong learning’s capacity to answer many challenges of modern societies, and it has over time become a milestone in the European education agenda, thanks to the support of civil society actors and Members of the European Parliament. 

The session “Education and innovative pedagogy: Smart(phone) education” will give a broader vision on the results reached by the last year work within Smart Generation. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, November 21st from 10.00, in the conference room of our member SOLIDAR (rue de Pascal, 4-6, ground floor). Smartphone Education,  A Pedagogical Model for a conscious use of the Smartphone will introduce the results of the Erasmus + Consortium Smart Generation coordinated by Centro Culturale Francesco Luigi Ferrari and composed by another 5 partners: Fundación Cibervoluntarios, Solidarci, Ligzda, AMFR and the European Association for the Education of Adults. Smartphone Education is based on the Media Education methodology, addressed to teachers and educators to promote a critical and conscious use of the smartphone among young people tested in Italy, Spain, Romania and Latvia.

PRESENTAZIONE DEL MODELLO PEDAGOGICO E DELLE ESPERIENZE.

Il prossimo 25 ottobre presso la Sala c del Palazzo Europa a Modena a partire dalle 14,30 verrà presentato il Modello Pedagogico e delle Esperienze quali outputs del progetto Smart Generation. Il modello ha preso il via con un’indagine relativa al fabbisogno formativo digitale su un ampio campione europeo composto da ragazzi, insegnanti ed educatori rispetto alle modalità di utilizzo dello smartphone. Sulla base dei risultati è stato sviluppato Smartphone Education, un modello pedagogico per favorire un uso critico e consapevole
di questo strumento negli ambienti formali e non formali. Il modello messo a punto è reso disponibile su una
piattaforma online accessibile da questo sito cliccando su E-learning platform.

Centro Ferrari from Modena (Italy), as Lead Partner of the project “SMART Generation – Smartphone potential and educational resources for young generation” (Erasmus+), is organizing a Multiplier Event to present the project outputs.

In particular, the focus will be on the SMARTPHONE EDUCATION Pedagogical Model and on the relative e-learning Platform. This is an educational tool addressed to teachers and educators to promote a critical and conscious use of the smartphone among young people.

The Event will be held on 25 October in Modena and we can support your participation with a contribution of 150 € that can be used to cover your costs (travel, accommodation, etc.).

The fifth Smart Generation Steering Committee Meeting was held in Latvia from 17 to 18 July. The partners coming from five different EU countries dicussed over the educational possibilities of the smartphone in class and started preparing the multiplier events in Modena and Brussels, policy Recommendations and first impressions on the Results of the testing phase of the Mobile learning based pedagogical model.

The fourth Smart Generation Steering Committee Meeting was held in Modena from 15 to 17 February. The partners coming from five different EU countries dicussed over the next goals of the project: activities starting out in schools and High schools; tools to follow a Pedagogical Model using the smartphone in class., communication project implementation.
