SMART GENERATION

The Cultural Centre F.L. Ferrari project, “Smart Generation”, about new means of communications and co-financed by the European Programme Erasmus Plus, has just started off. The training will involve 500 young people and 70 educators from different European Countries. The project will also provide a survey on technologies and educational needs for 1500 young people and 500 adults.

The aim is to develop and experiment an innovative educational model capable of raising awareness over the use of smartphones and also open a public debate on the role of digital technologies in the process of building a qualitative social relationships. These are definitely the main goals of “Smart Generation”, the F.L. Ferrari project co-financed by the European Programme Erasmus +.

The kick-off meeting was held at Ferrari Centre Offices with the participation of the following European partners: SolidArci of Caserta (Italy), Ciber Voluntarios (Spain), the ANFRM Association (Romania) and the European Association for the Education of Adults (Belgium).

Smart Generation is based on Media Education as innovative methodology on new means of communications, considered as interesting tools to support citizenship processes in the society of knowledge and promote different didactic methods that see media both as a mean and an education content.

Among the different actions, the project foresees an educational training program on the use of new technologies for 500 young people (from 12 to 17) and 70 European educators (teachers, animators) through the Media Education labs within and outside school environments.

Smart Generation will also structure a social research phase on educational needs involving, 1500 young people and over 500 adults (teachers, animators, educators) in the European territories . The outcomes developed during the project will be available on a web platform. One of the main tools of the project is Sociotheraphy, a social science that examines groups of people, their individuals and behaviors, and uses the information collected during the case studies to contribute towards a systemic enrichment of social and living conditions.
